CPI/FOMC Initial Move Fade

Entry method

Wait for a major economic release (CPI, FOMC, NFP). Let the initial spike play out (usually 2-5 minutes). If the initial move is a spike up followed by rejection (long upper wick), enter short. If initial spike down with

Position management

These are fast trades — 5-30 minutes max. The real move usually starts within 10 minutes of the event. If the fade doesnt work within 5 candles on 1m, close at market (the initial move WAS the real move). Once profitable, trail aggressively.
